ImageFX and AmigaOS 3.5
While AmigaOS 3.5 is a fantastic upgrade to our beloved Amiga, it does appear to have a few rough spots. Fortunately none of these are so troublesome that we can't find a way to work around them.
The primary problem discovered so far include the following:
- Corrupted/Garbaged Backdrop Image
- Missing Cycle Gadgets/Layers Menu
- CyberGraphX problems
Here are the suggested fixes for these problems:
- With the older picture.datatype (v.43.764) in your Classes/ Dataypes you can use the backdrop.iff. Otherwise you'll have to delete or rename backdrop.iff (found in the ImageFX4 drawer) to prevent it from being accessed.
- Use Thorsten Willert's patch that allows both the old and the new chooser.gadget (this is the cause of the cycle gadget problems) co-exist in your Workbench. This patch simply allows the old chooser.gadget to be renamed choozer.gadget. You can find this patch on Aminet and in our FTP site as well.
- Reinstall CyberGraphX 4 from it's CDROM. If you don't own CyberGraphX 4 - buy it! It's worth it.
We hope these little notes are of use to you and help you avoid these problems for now.
